Truck dives off San Diego bridge into group beneath; 4 dead

Four individuals were killed and nine were harmed Saturday evening after a crazy pickup truck dove off the San Diego-Coronado Extension and nose-jumped into a group accumulated at a celebration underneath, authorities said.

The truck driver, who was distant from everyone else in the vehicle, struck a guardrail and fell 60 feet onto a seller's corner at Chicano Stop, California Thruway Watch Officer Jake Sanchez said. He was brought to the hospita with real wounds and captured on suspicion of driving impaired bringing about passings and wounds, the officer said.

authorities recognized him as Richard Anthony Sepolio, 25, a U.S. Naval force part positioned at the maritime base on Coronado Island over the cove from San Diego.

It's repulsive. It's terrible. We had guiltless individuals down here having a decent time and now they're gone," Sanchez said.

Eight individuals on the ground were harmed. One endured real injury and seven others had minor to direct wounds, said Lee Swanson, a representative for the city's Fire-Protect Office.

Witnesses said the GMC pickup truck with Texas tags arrived on a merchant's corner set up for La Raza Run, a cruiser ride that closures with a festival at the recreation center and normally draws many members. The crash steps far from a phase where a rockabilly band was playing.

I saw a truck come right off the interstate. It was going so quick it flew over the stage and arrived before the phase on a tent, a stall that was set up," Pursue Dameron told The San Diego Union-Tribune .

He said four individuals in the corner were pounded by the truck.

It resembled a motion picture. It resembled in moderate movement," Dameron said. "Where it hit, there was clean and garbage and moment turmoil and frenzy. Individuals running insane."

Another witness said the truck hit the front end, skiped and arrived on its side.

Photographs from the scene demonstrate the truck's front end was folded and its hood popped open.

The recreation center is situated underneath the scaffold in a transcendently Hispanic neighborhood in focal San Diego.
